Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has green-lighted a massive sum of ₦29,064,181,673.65 to kickstart and complete vital infrastructure projects within the State.

The approvals were granted during the State Executive Council Meeting led by Governor Abba Yusuf.

According to a press release from the Director General of Media and Publicity at Government House, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the decisions were made by Governor Abba Yusuf during the Executive Council Meeting.

The approved amount, equivalent to a 10% rescue intervention, will be funded jointly through the State’s combined state and local governments’ account, with the State contributing 30% and the local governments contributing 70%.

Moreover, the council has given the green light for allocating ₦239,536,859.21 to construct three rural roads in Ja’en Makera-Salanta Gudduba-Unguwar Baizangon Guliya and Fagoje-Kwanar Zuwo in Gwale, Ajingi, and Kiru/Madobi LGAs.

Additionally, the council has approved the purchase of 500 relief transformers to be distributed across the State’s 44 local government areas at a total cost of ₦7,123,750,000,000.

The council has also sanctioned the 2024 Constituency Projects in the State, with a total allocation of ₦6,400,000,000,000 for the projects.

Among other resolutions, approvals were granted for various projects including road construction, vehicle procurement, rural roads construction, office renovation, and staff allowances.

The investment in infrastructure projects geared towards the development and enhancement of various sectors across Kano State is a significant step towards progress and growth.
