It’s an exciting time to be a Belieber. The artist, who has had quite an incredible career thus far, has been a bit more focused on his personal life as of late. He took some time off from performing and the tabloids have been mostly preoccupied with his relationship with his wife, Hailey Bieber. But all of that is about to change.
Bieber teased new music to come in 2019, but it wasn’t until the year began to wind down that he started to reveal what was next for him. And there’s a lot to unpack. Here’s a look at all of it, including one of the most exciting parts: A documentary series.
The artist is releasing his first single in years
Despite his young age, Bieber has been in the business for nearly 11 years. And as the decade comes to a close, it’s hard to imagine what it would have been like without him. His debut album, My World 2.0, was released in 2010, and all of a sudden, the world had Bieber fever.
However, the past couple of years have been a bit scarce in terms of new content from the singer. He hadn’t released a single himself (or one off his own album) since 2016. But on Dec. 24, 2019, Bieber shared his new single, Yummy, the first off his upcoming fifth album, on YouTube. And now, there’s even more.
The trailer for ‘Justin Bieber: Seasons’ is here
The trailer begins a couple of years ago, when Bieber canceled the last few months of his Purpose World Tour. “As humans, we go through so many ups and downs,” the artist says in a voiceover. “So many good seasons, bad seasons, you know. Sometimes we want to give up.”
It then goes on to explain that Bieber has taken a few years off, but is ready to return. “I’m excited,” he says. “Just nervous a little bit. This album is different because of where I’m at in my life.” Hailey is also shown, talking about the “pressure” that her husband faces.
What else did Bieber reveal about the ‘event’?
That’s a lot to take in, but there’s even more. Bieber first teased the YouTube Original in his Dec. 24th “super trailer,” which also shares details about his upcoming album and tour. But this docuseries looks to be very unique, in that it will show much of the inner workings of the star’s life.
The 10-part event begins on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, according to the trailer. Episodes will drop twice weekly, on Mondays and Wednesdays, at 12 p.m. EST. So we can assume that the event will run for a total of five weeks. The episodes are only available on YouTube.
Here’s what’s still to come in 2020
Originally, Bieber had teased three dates: Dec. 24 (when the super trailer was released), Dec. 31 (when the trailer for Justin Bieber: Seasons was released), and Jan. 3 (when the single “Yummy” will be available for purchase). But what else do fans have to look forward to?
The above date of Jan. 4 at noon seems likely to be when Bieber is planning to release the music video for “Yummy.” However, there are quite a few dates in the future he’s going to tease, including the highly anticipated release date of his new album. We’ll just have to wait and see.
