Kendrick Lamar and Drake are no strangers to taking subliminal shots at one another in their music, but it appears that the Kendrick and Drake feud rumors only continue to escalate following the release of Kendrick’sUntitled Unmastered project that dropped earlier this morning.

Kendrick surprised fans with the release of his eight-track project on March 4 after rumors surfaced online suggesting that new music from the Grammy winner was on the way. Despite the project having debuted on Apple Music and Spotify only 12 hours ago, it didn’t take long for fans to begin weighing in with their opinions of Kendrick’s untitled tracks, including one that seemingly addresses rumors of a growing feud between Kendrick and Drake. The Kendrick and Drake diss rumors began in 2013 after Lamar famously called out Drake alongside several other industry heavyweights on Big Sean’s track “Control.”In the track, Kendrick took a slight jab at Drake when he rapped, “I’m usually homeboys with the same n***** I’m rhyming with but this is hip-hop and them n****s should know what time it is / And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake…/ I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n*****,” BET reports.Drake was rumored to have responded to Kendrick’s claims later that year on his track “The Language” in which he rhymes, “I don’t know why they been lying, but your s*** not that inspiring / F*** any n**** that’s talking that s*** just to get a reaction /…I am the kid with the motor mouth / I am the one you should worry ’bout.”

However, other fans argue that Lamar’s new track is not actually aimed at Drake and is rather a dig at Jay Electronica, who ignited feud rumors with Kendrick last month after he claimed that “Kendrick is my son. Kendrick is my baby. Kendrick wishes that he could be me,” Pitchfork reports. One fan argues that rather than taking aim at Drake on the track, Lamar is rather responding to Electronica’s diss while simultaneously referencing Drake’s take-down of Meek Mill in their ongoing beef from last year, explaining, “loool not at all he’s saying he’s going to do what drake done to meek ‘imma drake you down,'” while another adds, “he’s using drake to describe what he’s going to do that ain’t nothing about drake.”What do you think of Kendrick Lamar’s reference to Drake in “untitled 07”?
