It appears Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari’s differences also include how they’ll co-parent their three kids post-divorce. Cutler has requested joint custody and states, in court documents obtained by TMZ, that he has always been “the available at home parent and primary caretaker of the parties’ minor children.”
However, Cavallari wants primary physical custody, claiming that she has been “the primary residential parent” and that she is “a fit and proper person to be named Primary Residential Parent.”
Back in 2014, Cavallari gushed about Cutler’s parenting skills in an interview with Michigan Avenue. “Jay is a great dad,” she said (via Chicago Tribune). “It’s so sweet seeing him with Camden and Jax, and there’s nothing sexier than seeing your husband as a great dad.”
Then in August 2018, the reality star explained to Page Six how Cutler would hold it down at home while she built her Uncommon James empire. “He luckily is unemployed at the moment,” she revealed. “And he takes the kids to school, and he picks them up from school, which really frees up my day.” She added, “He’s at home with the kids himself right now and I never have to worry about it. So as corny and cheesy as it is, I honestly couldn’t do it without him.”
Of course, we wish both Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler the best as they navigate this new normal.
