A 27-year-old Nigerian man named Winner Terry has been taken into custody by the Buduburam District Police Command in the Central Region of Ghana.
He was apprehended for reportedly attacking his Nigerian co-tenant with a broken bottle during a quarrel.
The altercation occurred at Estate Junction in Gomoa Buduburam.
Reports indicate that the victim, known as Nann, and the suspect engaged in a heated dispute regarding royalties for songwriters.
After the argument, they continued their conversation in Terry’s room, unaware of his malicious intentions.
Terry proceeded to injure Nann by slashing him in the neck, shoulder, and leg, causing him to lose consciousness.
Neighbors swiftly transported Nann to the ST Gregory Catholic Hospital in Buduburam, where he is currently receiving medical attention.
Terry tried to flee but was caught by the authorities and presented before the Ofaakor Circuit Court on June 21, 2024.
The court ordered him to be held in police custody for a fortnight, and he is expected to appear in court again on July 1, 2024.
The landlord, Nana Amoasi, expressed disbelief at the incident, emphasizing the calculated nature of the suspect’s actions given the severity of the victim’s injuries.
