Nigerian artist Speed Darlington has sparked controversy following his recent comments about his experiences while detained for allegedly defaming fellow musician Burna Boy.
He disclosed that he engaged with female inmates by offering them food in return for allowing him to measure their waists.
According to him, the police reportedly deprived detainees of meals, which created severe hunger and an urge to accept his offer.
Speed explained that while some women initially declined, many eventually gave in after enduring days without proper food.
In a widely circulated video, he shared his thoughts, stating:
“The experience was both bad and good… I met numerous girls. I’d leave them for two or three days, but by the fourth day, hunger would start affecting them. Then I’d say I wanted to measure their yansh in the cell. If they agreed, I’d buy them food; if not, they’d continue to feel hungry…”
