When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for the first of their final official appearances in the U.K., the public was stirred into a frenzy. In particular, people were keen to comment on the Duchess. “Here for the absolute glamour,” one Twitter user wrote. Another tweeted, “Is it my imagination or is this the first time in a while that Meghan Markle has worn bright colors and that glorious shade of red lipstick?! To Freedom…and Fenty!”
Other social media users focused on how content the couple seems to be. “The love I’m seeing for #HarryandMeghan is melting my heart. I’m so happy they’re happy!!” an admirer captioned *the* photo of the pair. Another commented: “What a photo! Against the flashes of the press, these two back in the UK, together & sheltered against the storm.” Still, another person added, “Call me sentimental but I think this picture explains everything, it was all about love, you know, that deep down arrow through your heart kind of love, when you’re willing to sacrifice all to protect & keep someone safe.” Excuse us while we wipe away a tear or two.
As The Sydney Morning Herald notes: “Judging from the reaction on social media, & the wild enthusiasm from the crowds, the public is in full agreement. A royal title is irrelevant in the face of blinding charisma and glamour.” Too true. Here’s to royals who follow their hearts!
