The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, part of Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), has achieved a significant victory in their efforts to restore stability and security in Taraba and parts of Benue State, under the operation titled “Operation Golden Peace”.

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, Captain Olubodunde, the Acting Assistant Director of 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, shared this information.

On December 7, 2024, troops executed a meticulously planned clearance operation in Akahagu and China villages within the Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

The operation progressed to Ikayor village, where troops confronted bandits at a camp associated with the infamous criminal Akiki Utiv, known as “Full Fire.”

During this confrontational operation, the troops utilized overpowering firepower, leading the bandits to retreat in disarray.

After the clash, a red Toyota Corolla and a motorcycle were retrieved.
