The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has ordered airlines to use local caterers for their in-flight meals.
This instruction was detailed in a memo dated October 15 and distributed to the airlines.
The letter, issued by H.T. Ejibunu, the Director overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, was sent to the Acting Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority in Abuja.
This mandate is set to be implemented starting January 1, 2025.
“The Honourable Minister of Aviation has mandated that all outbound flights from Nigeria, particularly those of foreign airlines, must utilize local caterers for onboard meals,” the memo stated.
