Woman Detained for Injuring Boy as Punishment
Odeale Fatimah, a woman in her middle age, has been taken into custody after allegedly using a razor blade to harm ten-year-old Olasunkanmi Oluwadamilara in relation to claims of theft.
According to a statement from the police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, this incident occurred on January 13, 2025, around 11:00 am. A group from the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Obada Oko, headed by Olagbegi Moses, brought the injured boy to the police station. Olasunkanmi, who is a student at Dinamis Private School located in the Araromi area, had severe cuts on his hands.
Upon inquiry, Olasunkanmi disclosed that his guardian, Odeale, had inflicted the injuries on him. She later confessed to using a razor blade to punish the boy after accusing him of stealing six hundred naira, which he allegedly used to buy ice cream for his peers.
Odutola mentioned that an investigation is underway, with the police set to provide further updates.
