Insights for 2025 from the Primate Church of Nigeria
The Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba, Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), has shared hopeful predictions for Nigeria’s upcoming year.
He expressed optimism that 2025 will be a significant improvement for the nation.
Ndukuba made this announcement during a press event focused on Nigeria’s current affairs, held in Abuja on Monday.
According to him, although 2024 posed numerous challenges for Nigerians, the country will begin to see positive changes as a result of current hardships in 2025.
The Primate highlighted that the removal of fuel subsidies, rising oil prices, soaring food costs, and financial struggles contributed to making 2024 more difficult than the prior year.
He compared these difficulties to the painful experience of childbirth, suggesting that they ultimately lead to great joy.
Ndukuba acknowledged the efforts of the nation’s economic leaders, particularly praising the Central Bank of Nigeria for their commitment to maintaining economic stability.
He also recognized the resilience, hope, and prayers of Nigerians who continue to endure economic challenges and insecurity.
“When you ask me about 2024, I’ll respond that 2025 will bring greater blessings than 2024. The hardships we face now are part of our growth process.”
“This doesn’t mean 2025 will be free of challenges. They will persist, but we believe that solutions will start to emerge.”
“We will see greater returns from our efforts this year, leading to improved stability.”
“This applies not only to the value of our currency and fuel prices but also to various economic policies currently being implemented,” he added.
Ndukuba urged that addressing issues of greed and corruption is crucial for Nigeria to experience positive progress in 2025.
Regarding Christmas celebrations, he advised Nigerians to celebrate within their means, considering the prevailing economic conditions.
The Primate cautioned against wasting all accumulated resources during the festive season.
Instead, he encouraged celebrating the holiday spirit by prioritizing compassion and support for one another, particularly focusing on helping the less fortunate.
