Ned Nwoko Switches Allegiance to APC
Prince Ned Nwoko, the Senator for Delta North, has officially moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This change comes after prolonged speculation surrounding his political future.
Nwoko pointed to significant internal conflicts and divisions within the PDP as the main reasons for his departure, noting that these issues have become impossible to reconcile.
He announced his resignation in a letter to the Chairman of the PDP in Ward 8, located in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State. The letter acknowledged his long-standing commitment to the PDP since its inception in 1999.
“I am writing to formally resign from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a party I have been a devoted member of since 1999,” the letter stated. “My resignation is due to the significant divisions within the party, which hinder our ability to unite and serve our community effectively.”
Nwoko revealed that just days before his resignation, there was a physical altercation among party officials, showcasing the extent of the factional strife.
He expressed gratitude to the PDP for allowing him to run in the 2022/2023 senatorial election, where he connected with his constituency and shared his vision for the future.
“Throughout my campaign, I made important promises to my constituents, and I take those commitments seriously,” he emphasized. “Regrettably, the current party structure in our state has not helped me keep these promises. After careful thought, I believe that it is essential to leave the party to meet my obligations to the people.”
Nwoko reassured both fellow party members and constituents of his dedication to leadership, unity, and the development of Delta North.
“This decision is made with the best interests of those I serve in mind, as I remain committed to the growth and prosperity of our state and country,” he concluded.
