In reaction to criticism from Senator Ireti Kingibe, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), advised her to hang herself on a transformer if she is unhappy with his work in the capital city.
Wike emphasized that he is focused on fulfilling his duties, not winning anyone’s approval, as appointed by President Bola Tinubu.
The Minister’s remarks came after Senator Kingibe claimed that FCT residents were dissatisfied with Wike’s performance, citing a lack of schools, hospitals, and basic amenities.
Wike defended his record, asserting that he has achieved success in a short period and questioned Senator Kingibe’s contributions to the FCT’s welfare since taking office.
He even daringly challenged Kingibe to run for the FCT seat again in 2027, confident that she would not secure victory as before.
