Ekiti Police Parades Notorious Jailbreaker 20 Others

An infamous prison escapee, Temitope Omotuyi, also known as Tope Jinadu, was shown to the public by the Ekiti State Police Command on Wednesday.

He had been apprehended back in 2012 for the crimes of conspiracy and armed robbery.

During the display of the suspect in Ado-Ekiti, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu, disclosed that in 2012, Jinadu and four other suspects were taken to court and detained in the Ado-Ekiti correctional facility.

As per his statement, Jinadu and another individual, Jimoh Sadiku, conspired with their accomplices outside the Correctional Center, resulting in the breach of the center’s gate and the escape of 220 inmates.

Abutu stated, “On 13/6/2024 at about 20:30hrs, the RRS operatives, through credible information, arrested one Omotuyi Temitope a.k.a TOPE JINADU SMALL inside Alex Grace Hotel, Ado-Ekiti.

“The suspect, alongside four others, was previously arrested in 2012 for Conspiracy and Armed Robbery. They were taken to court and remanded in the Correctional Center, Ado-Ekiti.

“While in the Correctional Center, the suspect and Jimoh Sadiku collaborated with their associates, leading to the escape of 220 inmates by breaking the Center’s gate.

“Following this, the suspect fled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he was linked to a murder case, arrested, sentenced to six years in prison, and later deported to Nigeria.

“Further investigation revealed that the suspect and his accomplices, who are currently at large, have carried out numerous robberies in Ado-Ekiti.”

Additionally, twenty other suspects were presented for crimes including conspiracy, theft, armed robbery, cultism, attempted kidnapping, and murder.
