Greta Gerwig was shut out of the Best Director nominations at the 2020 Golden Globes, and sadly, she wasn’t a winner on the red carpet, either. The Frances Ha starlet sported an off-the-shoulder black dress with white draping and jeweled accents on the side, plus a small slit. She rocked a silver and diamond choker and diamond drop earrings, and sky-high black heels. Unfortunately, the color-blocking of the draping versus the rest of the gown, plus the choker, visually “cut” up Gerwig’s figure, making her look less statuesque than she really is. Her hair was slicked down at the roots, but the effect looked more unwashed than wet.
On the bright side, her makeup looks super-pretty, with black eyeliner, soft pink eyeshadow and lipstick. Gerwig, who was accompanied by her partner, Marriage Story director Noah Baumbach, also sported some serious bling on her ring finger — but don’t get too excited, because it was the ring finger of her right hand.
