Tonto Dikeh Reflects on Her Divorce
Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh expressed that ending her marriage to Olakunle Churchill was her wisest choice.
This statement came as she offered guidance to a single mother who reached out to her on Instagram, seeking support after her own separation.
The mother had asked Dikeh how she managed after her ex-partner left her and their child. In response, Dikeh clarified that she was the one who ended the marriage to ensure a better life for both herself and her son.
Dikeh emphasized, “To clarify, I made the decision to leave my marriage for the sake of my child and me. It was crucial for my well-being. It was the best choice I could have made.”
She encouraged the mother to recognize her potential and focus on personal growth and self-investment.
On her Instagram account, Dikeh shared thoughts with other single mothers, stating, “I’m not an expert in this journey, and I don’t have all the answers. My greatest lesson has been love. I allow God to guide me, and that is sufficient for me. Seek strength from your faith, and remember to keep your family issues private.”
It’s important to remember that Tonto Dikeh’s marriage to Churchill ended in 2017 amid claims of cheating and domestic abuse.
The couple has a son together, and despite their split, they continue to have public disputes online, with Tonto accusing Churchill of neglecting his parental responsibilities.
In response, Churchill asserts that Tonto restricts his access to their child.
