Rivers Court Disqualifies APC Congresses
An important ruling has come from the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt, which has invalidated the Local Government and State Congresses held by the Tony Okocha faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The congresses were deemed unlawful as they contravened a previous court ruling. Okocha’s faction proceeded with the elections despite the legal constraints.
On December 14, the APC’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, officially inaugurated the newly appointed executives resulting from these congresses.
A group of party members raised concerns and filed a lawsuit against these congresses, claiming they were unfairly excluded from participating, despite having fulfilled the required financial obligations.
