This inauguration includes 36 roads, five bridges, and a pedestrian bridge.

During a media briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, Information and Strategy Commissioner Mr. Gbenga Omotoso and Infrastructure Adviser Engr. Olufemi Daramola shared details about the upcoming event.

Governor Sanwo-Olu previously hinted at this grand inauguration of infrastructure projects throughout the state in a recent public event.

This announcement was made while presenting compensation cheques for lands acquired by the state for public interest at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, Ikeja.

Engr. Daramola emphasized that this inauguration marks a key achievement for Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

He highlighted that within the THEMES+ development framework by Sanwo-Olu, Traffic Management and Transportation stand out as they significantly affect residents’ health and productivity.

“Mr. Governor reiterated in his recent budget address that ongoing investments in infrastructure are essential for our development, asserting that a Greater Lagos will be built on high-quality infrastructure that aligns with population growth,” said Daramola.

He praised the governor and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, for their strong leadership in completing these projects.

“To bolster economic growth, Sanwo-Olu’s administration has boldly pursued sustainable road infrastructure in Lagos,” he stated.

Daramola noted that despite rising costs from global economic pressures, the governor prioritized these projects’ completion.

“It is noteworthy that, amidst financial challenges, this administration has successfully finished 36 roads, five bridges, and a pedestrian bridge for residents,” he added.

The inaugurated projects will be located in areas including Dopemu Agege, Alimosho, Amuwo-Odofin, Badagry, Epe, Eti-Osa, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikeja, Ikorodu, and Kosofe.

Additionally, Daramola mentioned that other projects are under development across different state divisions.

“The completion of these projects, despite economic difficulties, highlights our commitment to providing vital infrastructure for the people,” he said.

Project commissioning starts on December 9, 2024, beginning with the Abiola-Onijemo Link Road and Bridge in Ifako-Ijaiye LGA, followed by the Alapere Pedestrian Bridge in Kosofe LGA. On December 10, the Ikoyi Network of Roads will follow in Eti-Osa LGA.

Daramola also stated, “As we approach the halfway point of this term, we will strive to build on our infrastructure successes and appreciate the media’s support in this endeavor.”

“Our goal is to create a safe, prosperous, and economically viable Lagos as we move forward.”
