Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to go on trial for serious allegations, including sex trafficking and racketeering, beginning on May 5, 2025.
This date was established by a U.S. judge on October 10.
During the recent court proceedings in Manhattan, Judge Arun Subramanian presided as Combs appeared alongside his family, including his mother and six of his kids.
Combs, 54, dressed in tan prison attire, greeted his family and embraced his legal team as he entered the courtroom.
In September, Combs pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including using his influential music business, Bad Boy Entertainment, to facilitate the transportation of women and male sex workers for the purpose of participating in recorded sexual activities, referred to as “Freak Offs.”
At a hearing in Manhattan federal court, Judge Subramanian confirmed the trial schedule.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson indicated that the prosecution’s presentation would require at least three weeks, while defense attorney Marc Agnifilo estimated that the defense’s arguments will take about a week.
Since his arrest, Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, and he is currently appealing a judge’s decision to deny him bail.
If found guilty of the charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, Combs could face a maximum sentence of life in prison, with a minimum of 15 years.
According to prosecutors, Combs allegedly lured women by providing drugs like ketamine and ecstasy, offering financial aid, or promising support in their careers or relationships.
It was also asserted that Combs allegedly recorded sexual encounters as a means of coercion to keep the women silent, and on occasions, he threatened victims and witnesses with weapons.
The indictment does not accuse Combs of directly committing acts of unwanted sexual contact, although he faces allegations of physical assault.
