On January 21, Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima met with Botswana’s President Duma Boko to discuss shared interests between their nations.
Shettima also had a dialogue with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
This meeting was part of Nigeria’s effort to strengthen ties within Africa and enhance economic collaboration, and took place during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Switzerland.

Vice President Shettima extended his congratulations to President Boko for his electoral success and called for enhanced cooperation among African nations, asserting the necessity for a unified stance on continental matters.
During their discussions, Shettima introduced WTO Director-General Okonjo-Iweala to President Boko, commending her remarkable accomplishments and acknowledging her status as one of Africa’s great leaders.
