The leadership at Air Peace has officially criticized Adams Oshiomhole for his “disruptive and inappropriate behavior” at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, which occurred on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
It was previously reported that Oshiomhole created a disturbance at the airport after failing to catch his flight.
In a statement shared on its official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, the airline accused the politician of physically confronting staff and forcibly closing the Zulu Terminal at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) due to his missed flight to Abuja.
According to Air Peace, Oshiomhole arrived at the Zulu Hall of the terminal at 6:10 AM, a mere 20 minutes before the 6:30 AM departure of Flight P47120 to Abuja.
At that point, the airline noted that boarding had already concluded, and the flight departed on schedule in accordance with its timely departure policy.
It’s noteworthy that the former Governor of Edo State and current Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, was seen in a viral video blocking the Zulu Terminal at GAT.
Air Peace remarked, “Upon learning of his missed flight, the politician displayed aggression, physically attacking our staff and forcibly blocking the terminal’s entrance.
“He even went to the extent of sealing the entry gate and controlling access, preventing other passengers from entering the terminal.”
This incident, which was recorded on video and quickly spread across social media, severely disrupted airport operations, impacting numerous other passengers with scheduled flights.
In response, Air Peace implemented a contingency plan, rerouting affected travelers through an alternative terminal to maintain seamless travel.
“We are truly disheartened that such a prominent individual exhibited such unprofessional and disruptive behavior towards fellow passengers and our staff,” stated the airline.
The airline reiterated that no one, irrespective of their position, is exempt from the regulations governing aviation operations.
Furthermore, the statement continued, “Air Peace upholds a rigid no-tolerance policy against violence or any aggressive behavior towards our personnel and passengers.”
“Aviation operations adhere to strict schedules and safety measures, and we are dedicated to maintaining these standards while ensuring safe and timely service to the Nigerian public.”
The airline concluded by encouraging all passengers to engage courteously and respectfully with aviation staff and procedures.
It wrapped up with, “Air Peace upholds values of discipline, integrity, and respect for due process. No one, regardless of their influence, is above these principles.”
