The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken a suspect into custody related to a violent armed robbery.
Amir Mohammed, 24, was arrested on November 7, 2024, while security teams were on patrol at the Sharada Federal Housing Estate, Kano.
Public Relations Officer Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi provided an update on the situation in a statement delivered on Friday.
“The suspect forcibly entered Mustafa Abubakar’s residence, inflicting multiple stab wounds on him and his family, causing severe injury,” the statement indicated.
“He stabbed Abubakar in 11 critical areas, including the neck and chest, while attempting to kill him and steal his smartphone and laptop, with the intentions of accessing the victim’s bank accounts.”
The victim has been taken to a hospital to receive medical care.
“Investigations showed that the suspect had previously broken into the same property on November 1 and stolen two SIM cards from the victim.”
“Authorities are also searching for an accomplice named Abbas Danmama, who is currently at large,” Idris-Abdullahi mentioned.
“Based on our initial findings, this case will be forwarded to the Nigeria Police for additional investigation and legal proceedings.”
