The CW shifts schedules including Supernatural, Stargirl & more
With many series unable to finish production on seasons amongst global coronavirus concerns, The CW has been forced to move its primetime schedules around which includes the delay of the back seven episodes of the final season of Supernatural and finale to Vampire Diaries spin-off Legacies, as well as moving up the premiere of the second season of In the Dark and delaying Stargirl. Supernatural executive producer Andrew Dabb confirmed on Monday that this week’s thirteenth episode of the final season would be the last “for a while” and the network announced new and repeat episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway will run in its time slot.
This week also marked the final new episode of the second season of Legacies, with only 16 episodes having been shot before filming was forced to shutdown and will see its time slot filled by the early return of the hit dramedy In the Dark. The second season premiere is set to air on April 16 at 9 p.m. PST after a new episode of Katy Keene, over a month ahead of its original May 28 debut date.
While the network has moved up In the Dark, it has delayed the network premiere of DC Universe’s Stargirl, which was supposed to preview on May 12 after a new episode of The Flash and take over its time slot beginning May 26 but will now succeed the long-running Arrowverse series on May 19 at 8 p.m. PST.
To help stagger the remaining new episodes of The Flash, the network will alternate airing new and repeat episodes in the coming weeks for the remainder of completed episodes until postproduction can be completed, with other shows affected including Supergirl, Batwoman, Nancy Drew and Charmed.
