Nigerian actor Francis Duru is in deep sorrow as he remembers his son, Ifeanyi, who would have celebrated his 16th birthday on December 4.
Ifeanyi, the veteran actor’s second son, passed away in August 2024 at the age of 15.
This morning, Duru took to Instagram to share the grief he and his family have faced since losing Ifeanyi.
He expressed:
”My dear son… today would have been your 16th birthday. The cruel hand of death took you away too soon. You were eagerly awaiting this day, and so were we. Yet, life dealt you an unfair hand, leaving a huge void in our hearts. Your departure and the circumstances still weigh heavily on us. The pain is deep; nothing will ever fill your absence. While it hurts, we hold on to the hope that God has a purpose. We cherish the joyful memories, but we miss you dearly — your warm smile, encouraging words, and comforting presence. Every day is a struggle, and your friends are confused, wondering what happened. Your mother cries every day, and we all feel your absence. Grandma keeps your picture close. We can’t celebrate with your cake today, but our love for you remains unchanged. You were truly extraordinary. Happy posthumous birthday, my champion. May you continue to rest in peace. Adieu, son. We love you forever.”
