The Tinubu-led Presidency has accused Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) of attempting to destabilize the nation.
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga criticized Obi for his remarks on Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Obi expressed concern about Nigeria’s economic crisis and highlighted the decline in the country’s economic performance since 2015.
He compared the GDP growth rates from 1999 to 2014 to the subsequent years, pointing out a significant decrease in economic growth.
In response, Bayo Onanuga dismissed Obi’s comments as misleading, questioning the timing of Obi’s economic analysis and suggesting a motive to incite destabilization in the country.
Onanuga accused Obi of using inaccurate statistics to rally support for disruptive actions in the coming week.
