President Tinubu Leads Federal Executive Council Meeting

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is overseeing a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at Aso Rock, which comes as he considers a cabinet reshuffle.

Prior to the meeting, Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government, praised President Tinubu for his dedication to democratic principles, highlighting the free and fair elections held in Edo State.

Akume also applauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State for their recent success, celebrating Monday Okpebholo’s victory. He stated, “We wish to take this moment, Mr. Chairman, to congratulate the people of Edo State, especially the APC family, expertly guided by the party’s elders, for their remarkable achievement, which had been missing from the APC for more than eight years.”

He further emphasized, “The election was recognized as fair, which aligns with Mr. President’s commitment to democratic values. We express our gratitude to you, Mr. President, for your unwavering support of the electoral process and democracy.”

The Secretary also informed the council of the passing of Mrs. Salome Jankada, a former Minister of Women Affairs and Youth Development during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s term. In honor of her contributions, the council observed a moment of silence for the late member, who passed away on August 27 of this year.

Key participants in the meeting included Senator George Akume, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, along with the majority of the cabinet ministers.
