The body of Richard Nomanzi, a 43-year-old businessman, was found with several stab wounds in his home located in Ogbogoro, within the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to reports, the macabre finding took place after neighbors detected a strong, unpleasant odor from his apartment and quickly contacted both the police and his relatives.
Upon entering his home, witnesses stumbled upon his deceased body and raised the alarm.
“They started shouting loudly,” reported one source.
In an interview with reporters in Port Harcourt, a woman named Gift claimed to be the mother of Nomanzi’s child and spoke about the shocking moment she learned of his passing.
“My name is Gift, mother of Favour, Richard Nomanzi’s child. I received a call around 3:15 pm yesterday while at my shop. The caller asked if I knew Richard Chijioke Nomanzi. I confirmed and explained our relationship,” she recounted.
“I was instructed to rush to Ogbogoro. Upon arriving, I found his body at the entrance of his apartment. It was terrifying to see him; he had suffered multiple stab wounds on his face and stomach, and there was a severe cut on his neck.”
“With police assistance, we moved him to the mortuary. My only wish now is for justice for him and our child.”
The incident has been reported to the Ozuoba Police Division, which is part of the Choba Area Command.
