Timothy Dauda, a 19-year-old suspect, has been apprehended by Edo State Police Command for allegedly causing the death of Alex Ezekiel.
The tragic incident occurred in Onumu community, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
Moses Joel Yamu, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest in Benin City, revealing that Dauda claimed to be a native doctor specializing in protective charms against weapons.
Yamu explained that Dauda shot Ezekiel during a test of the bulletproof charm he had made for him, resulting in Ezekiel’s fatality.
The victim was taken to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra but was pronounced dead by a medical professional.
Investigations are ongoing, and Dauda will be prosecuted once the inquiry is completed, as stated by the Police spokesperson.
