Tragic Accident Claims Life of Electrician in Lagos
A tragic incident in Lagos has led to the death of an electrician known as Sheni.
He lost his life due to electrocution while working on electrical wiring at the UNILAG Estate located in Magodo, Lagos State.
The unfortunate event took place around 5 PM on New Year’s Day.
Reports indicate that Sheni was called to assist residents who were facing a power outage.
A local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the moment, explaining that Sheni was fixing wiring when power was abruptly restored.
“He was fixing the wiring when the electricity came back on. We noticed he had stopped moving and then saw him dangling from the electric pole,” the resident narrated.
Another local, named Dapo, mentioned that they swiftly contacted the police and emergency services.
According to Dapo, a patrol team, along with fire service officials and ambulance personnel, arrived to provide assistance.
“Despite attempts to resuscitate him, Sheni was pronounced dead at the scene,” Dapo explained.
A police official stated that they are currently trying to reach Sheni’s family and are conducting an investigation to uncover more details about the incident.
“His body has been moved to the morgue, and we are working to notify his relatives. An investigation is underway to find out what led to this tragic event,” the police representative confirmed.
