A grave incident took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where a 35-year-old worker, Babaji Daule, was killed by a lion.
Police reports indicate that Daule, originally from Bauchi State, failed to properly secure the lion’s cage before attempting to feed it, which led to the lion escaping and attacking him.
Daule sustained severe neck injuries and later died from his wounds. Authorities were alerted, and the lion was subsequently shot to prevent further harm.
The body of the victim was taken to the Ijaye General Hospital mortuary. The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library attracts many visitors and includes a zoo, museum, resort, and amusement park.
