Police Make Arrests in Bauchi Armed Robbery Case
Authorities in Bauchi state have apprehended three individuals associated with an infamous robbery group operating in the Misau Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson SP Ahmed Muhammad Wakil shared details about the arrests in a statement released on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The suspects are charged with conspiracy, burglary, and armed robbery.
The arrested individuals are identified as Ahmad Musa, also known as Abba Yausa (20), Tijjani Abdullahi, known as T.J (20), and Danladi Aliyu, referred to as Uban Daba (30). They allegedly trespassed into a home.
“This incident occurred in July 2024, around 2:30 AM. The suspects, along with four accomplices—Ismail Kawuwa, Sadiq Kange, Adamu Dan Kamfani, and Attahir (who is still at large)—conspired to unlawfully break into the home of Malumi in Misau, Bauchi State,” the statement detailed.
“Armed with makeshift pistols and seven rounds of live ammunition, they stole N250,000, three mobile phones, and various recharge cards from the victim.
“Ahmad Musa was arrested by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) while in possession of a fake pistol and ammunition. During questioning, the suspects admitted to their roles in the robbery.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, has instructed the Commanding Officer, CSP Sani Mohammed (O/C RRS), to hand over the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for comprehensive scrutiny. Once the investigation concludes, the suspects will be formally charged for their crimes.
“The police are actively pursuing the remaining suspects. We encourage the public to reach out to local police with any information on their whereabouts.”
