Edo State Police Apprehend Two for Theft of Transformers

Authorities in Edo State have detained two individuals suspected of stealing electricity transformers and cables in Benin City.

This announcement came from the State Commissioner of Police, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo, during a press conference at the police headquarters on Friday, September 27, 2024.
 
He identified the suspects as KC Okojie Prince and Aruka Uche, who were apprehended by the X-Squad division.
 
“On August 11, 2024, we received reports of a break-in at No. 8 Idugboe Estate, off Sapele Road, where thieves stole various electrical items including a 300kva transformer, a 100kva transformer, and two drums of 2.5mm flex cable,”
he detailed.
 
“Following an extensive investigation, we arrested 50-year-old KC Okojie Prince, who admitted to colluding with an accomplice named Ojo, who is currently on the run.
 
“Prince also directed our officers to where the stolen goods were hidden, leading to the recovery from 40-year-old Aruka Uche at No. 5 Eben Street, off Akpakpava, Benin City.
 
“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect.”
