Stan Alieke, attorney for Speed Darlington, criticized the police for detaining the artist a week after his re-arrest.
The performer was re-arrested in Owerri, Imo state following his appearance at a concert last week.
Earlier, in October, he was taken into custody and relocated to Abuja due to a cyberbullying complaint lodged against him by fellow artist Burna Boy.
This issue arose from a video in which Speed hinted at a connection between Burna and Sean “Diddy” Combs amid allegations against the mogul involving s3x trafficking, leading to the discovery of numerous baby oils in his residence.
Speed was eventually released on bail but did not return as instructed, which prompted his re-arrest, according to Alieke.
A week post-arrest, Alieke emphasized the necessity for the police to respect his client’s rights and allow him bail, asserting his entitlement.
