Members of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party have joined the All Progressives Congress.
The representatives from these opposition parties made their announcement during the House of Representatives session on Tuesday, June 24.
PDP’s Peter Akpanke, who serves the Obanliku/Obudu/Beware federal constituency in Cross River State, moved to the APC alongside Prof Paul Nnamchi from the Labour Party, representing the Enugu East/Isi Uzo constituency in Enugu.
Akpanke stated that his departure from the PDP was due to ongoing internal conflicts that have remained unresolved, while Nnamchi cited similar leadership issues as the reason for his exit from the Labour Party.
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen announced the defections during the plenary session on Tuesday, reading the formal letters from both lawmakers.
