The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms and rains across Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday.
On Monday, thunderstorms are expected in parts of Kebbi, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Taraba, and Kaduna states. In the North Central region, rains are likely over the Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, and Niger states.
Rains are then anticipated in Lagos, Ondo, Ebonyi, Edo, Imo, Abia, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River later in the day.
Tuesday may see cloudy conditions in the northern regions in the morning with thunderstorms expected later in states like Gombe, Bauchi, Borno, Jigawa, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna.
In the southern region, intermittent rains and thunderstorms are predicted throughout the day.
Wednesday could bring morning thunderstorms to Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Zamfara states with more thunderstorms expected in the afternoon in Jigawa, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, and Borno states.
Throughout Wednesday, there may be cloudy conditions in the North Central region in the morning and thunderstorms later in the day. The southern region is expected to have thunderstorms and intermittent rains during the afternoon and evening hours.
NiMet is advising the public to be cautious as strong winds may precede the rains especially in areas prone to thunderstorms. Airline operators are also encouraged to stay updated on weather reports.
