Senator Dino Melaye, a former lawmaker from Kogi and hopeful for the governorship nomination from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has made a bold statement regarding Elon Musk. He announced that he would sell his Tesla if Musk continues to target U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, especially as the November 5 Presidential election approaches.
As a vocal supporter of Republican candidate Donald Trump, Musk has been openly critical of Harris. In a recent joke at a church, Musk made a comment suggesting that concerns about Harris’s safety are unfounded compared to those surrounding Trump.
Musk’s support for Trump’s campaign is evident through his financial contributions, amounting to $119 million to the Republican efforts. By mid-October, he had given $43.6 million to America PAC, which channels resources into crucial swing states like Pennsylvania.
From July to late September, Musk has contributed around $75 million and has made appearances at various Trump rallies. In response to Musk’s actions, Melaye expressed his indignation on X, stating that he would not only sell his Tesla but would also encourage others to do the same if Musk does not cease his commentary on Harris.
He shared, “If Elon Musk will not stop harassing Kamala H. I will sell my Tesla and advise my friends to do the same. America should not lose her pride as the global democratic police.”
