The Banks family is getting back together.
While quarantined at home, Will Smith hosted a virtual reunion with the cast of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” on the two-part season finale of his Snapchat series, “Will From Home.” The reunion featured cast members Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Vivian), and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey).
Snapchat shared two clips from the episode on YouTube. In one, Smith reveals that it was Ribeiro who convinced him to name his “Fresh Prince” character after himself. “It was such a deep insight that you had,” said Smith. “You said, ‘Because people are going to call you that for the rest of your life!’”

Smith also asked his castmates how they deal with being recognized as their “Fresh Prince” characters in the real world. DJ Jazzy Jeff said he got “really, really annoyed” when people wanted to reenact his famous handshake with Smith from the show. “You would see in peoples’ eyes when they were about to sneak the handshake, and I would just grab their hand and hold it!” said Jeff.
The first installment of “Will From Home’s” two-part finale aired Wednesday on Snapchat, while the second will debut Thursday at 6 a.m. ET. According to Rolling Stone, there will also be a tribute to the late James Avery, who played Will’s Uncle Phil.
Last fall, it was reported that Smith’s entertainment company Westbrook Inc. is developing a spinoff of the popular ’90s sitcom, which ran for six seasons on NBC from 1990-1996.
