The FCT Police Command has taken into custody Rahimat Salaum on suspicions of murdering her husband, who was paralyzed, in the Pegi region of the nation’s capital.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, July 30. Rahimat Salaum was apprehended by officers of the Command from the Pegi Police Division on Monday.

SP Adeh explained that the woman was intercepted while trying to escape with her husband’s possessions, and she was subsequently arrested by the police.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to the crime after a confrontation with her husband. She led the authorities to an unfinished building where she had disposed of the burned body, SP Adeh disclosed.

An investigation into the incident is presently underway. CP Benneth C. Igweh, the Commissioner of Police for FCT, assured the public that justice will be served in this case.
