Barcelona heads into the November international break enjoying a six-point advantage over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.
Last weekend, Hansi Flick’s squad experienced a setback, ending their seven-match winning streak with a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad, allowing Los Blancos to narrow the title gap.
Flick has expressed concern regarding the injury of the talented 17-year-old, Lamine Yamal, who was unable to participate due to an ankle issue.
As anticipated, Yamal has withdrawn from the Spanish national team for international duty and is expected to be out for the next 2-3 weeks.
Moreover, Flick faces additional challenges, as star forward Robert Lewandowski sustained a back injury during the latter stages of the match against La Real.
Despite playing the full match in San Sebastian, Barcelona has now reported a back strain for Lewandowski, who will join Yamal in the recovery unit.
Lewandowski Injury Update and Missed Matches
Lewandowski has pulled out of Poland’s squad for two upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Portugal and Scotland on November 15 and 18.
If the recovery timeline is accurate, he should be ready for Barcelona’s La Liga match against Celta Vigo on November 23.
This would be a significant boost for Flick, as Barcelona’s No. 9 is currently leading the Golden Boot race with 14 goals in La Liga.
In contrast, Yamal’s recovery will likely take longer, and he is expected to miss the game against Celta Vigo as well as the home match against Las Palmas on November 30.
