Jadon Sancho played a pivotal role in Chelsea’s victory, assisting the team in securing the UEFA Conference League title with a crucial third goal in their 4-1 win over Real Betis.
However, despite this key contribution, concerns loom over his future. Chelsea brought in Sancho on loan from Manchester United in August 2024, with a commitment to purchase him for £25 million this summer.
Unfortunately, a challenging season for the England star has sparked rumors about a possible return to Old Trafford.
According to a report by TBR Football, Sancho’s next steps are crucial if he wishes to continue at Chelsea.
Graeme Bailey, chief correspondent for TBR Football, states that Chelsea values Sancho and views the £25 million transfer as a savvy investment.
Club sources suggest he has the potential to be a mainstay in Enzo Maresca’s squad; however, for a permanent deal to materialize, Sancho will need to accept a lower salary than what he currently earns at Manchester United.
If he doesn’t agree, the transfer may not proceed, but if he does, the deal could become a reality.
“I’ve been informed that the situation is quite delicate,” Bailey shared exclusively with TBR Football. “Sancho feels content at Chelsea, and the club appreciates his contributions.
“Nonetheless, there’s no scenario where he could rejoin United; that opportunity has passed, and he would be transferred.”
Enzo Maresca’s insights on Jadon Sancho’s prospects
Following Sancho’s significant contribution to Chelsea’s success in the Conference League, manager Enzo Maresca suggested that the young player’s future at the club remains promising.
Post-match, Maresca alluded to Sancho’s ongoing role at Stamford Bridge.
“Moving forward, we will meet with the club to determine the plans for next season,” he informed reporters.
“Our finishing in fourth place is partly due to Jadon; our victory tonight is also attributed to him.”
