Chelsea’s Target Pushes for Urgent Move as Talks Heat Up

Why Chelsea missed on out signing Jamie Gittens in the first transfer window image

Chelsea is actively seeking a new winger as Enzo Maresca aims to enhance the team’s options on the flanks.

The club opted not to continue Jadon Sancho’s loan, leaving them short on wing players since his exit.

Maresca hinted at Chelsea’s intention to recruit a winger by stating, “We currently have Noni, Pedro, and Ty as our only proper wingers, so we will definitely make a move once the transfer window opens.”

Recently, Chelsea has been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens, having made multiple offers that were previously rejected during the short transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s side has resumed discussions to finalize a deal for Gittens.

While Arsenal has also shown interest in Gittens, it appears that if Chelsea and Dortmund can agree on a transfer fee, the young English talent will join Stamford Bridge.

Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Gittens’ status via X, indicating that the player is primarily focused on a move to Chelsea, and talks with Dortmund are ongoing.

This news is promising for Maresca, though he will have to rely on just Madueke, Neto, and George during the Club World Cup.
