The Premier League season has wrapped up, and Arsenal celebrated with a 2-1 victory against Southampton on Sunday.
With the season’s conclusion, the Gunners are now gearing up for the summer transfer window. They aim to close the gap to the champions.
This marks their third consecutive year finishing second, highlighting the need for fresh talent to challenge Liverpool for the title next year.
Before launching into significant changes, however, some players might depart the club this summer.
After the match against Southampton, Mikel Arteta disclosed the names of players potentially leaving the team. Kieran Tierney, Jorginho, Neto, and Raheem Sterling are among those who could exit the Emirates.
“It was essential to secure this victory and also to bid farewell to a few players who are moving on, expressing our gratitude for their contributions,” Arteta shared with the media after the win.
“Some, like Kieran, have been part of this journey with us for six years. We’re trying to embrace Jorginho, Neto, and Raheem too.”
What did Tierney communicate to Arteta before the match against Southampton?
Arsenal concluded their season with a significant away victory over relegated Southampton at St. Mary’s. This match was crucial as many players may have worn the club’s colors for the last time.

Tierney gave Arsenal the lead in the 43rd minute before Ross Stewart equalized for Southampton in the second half. Ultimately, Martin Odegaard secured the win with a goal in the 90th minute.
It might have been a final goal for Tierney, as Arteta reflected on how the left-back anticipated this outcome ahead of the match.
“Kieran said yesterday, ‘I’m going to score in my last game,’ and he certainly went on to do just that,” Arteta noted.
The defender is reportedly considering a move back to his childhood club, Celtic FC. He joined Arsenal in August 2019 and has made 144 appearances for the Gunners.
Similarly, Jorginho is said to have inked a three-year agreement with Brazilian club Flamengo.
Meanwhile, Neto and Sterling are also expected to leave, as both were on season-long loan deals with the club.
Neto was on loan from Bournemouth and, although he had limited chances, he served as backup for goalkeeper David Raya. Conversely, Sterling was loaned from Chelsea to boost the attack but largely played a secondary role, featuring in just 28 matches this season.
