The upcoming Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur is crucial for Manchester United’s summer transfer strategy.
Currently positioned in 17th place in the Premier League, their victory in the Europa League represents their last chance for Champions League qualification next season.
This qualification holds substantial importance, enhancing their bargaining power during negotiations, as noted by The Independent. Amid these circumstances, a new target has emerged for the Red Devils, as talkSPORT reports discussions to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth this summer.
However, securing the £70m forward will hinge on the team’s performance in the Europa League.
Additionally, there’s an opportunity to secure Ipswich Town’s striker Liam Delap even if they reach the Champions League, as the English forward has a £30m ($40m) release clause due to relegation.
Ruben Amorim is eager to revamp the squad and has acknowledged that he should resign if the team remains in its current predicament next season.

This summer, the Red Devils intend to offload some of their forwards, including Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. Between them, they have netted just seven goals in the Premier League this season.
While Juventus shows interest in Hojlund, Inter Milan wishes to loan Zirkzee. United previously invested £108m ($143.7m) in the two players, and their attempts to find new homes for them within just three years raise questions about their recruitment strategy.
Beyond Semenyo and Delap, United is also eyeing Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, but this depends on their Champions League qualification and their capacity to offload struggling forwards.
Manchester United’s Previous Interest in Semenyo
Interestingly, Semenyo’s profile has risen significantly this season. He’s been impressive on the left side for Bournemouth, attracting interest from teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Reports indicate that Manchester United had previously shown interest in Semenyo back in December 2018, when he was just 18 years old and on loan at Newport County from Bristol City.
Although the deal fell through at the time, the Red Devils have reignited their interest after several years. Semenyo has scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 40 appearances this season across various competitions.
His explosive speed, excellent dribbling skills, and the ability to play on both flanks make him a versatile asset. Being proficient with both feet makes him a tricky opponent in front of goal.
At 25 years old, he has spent three seasons with Bournemouth, and this year marks his highest goal tally, indicating a potential move away from the Vitality Stadium as he seeks to elevate his career.
