Manchester United is potentially poised for a successful transfer window.
With one forward unwilling to return to his current club and another moving closer to a deal, the Red Devils may soon find solutions to their scoring woes.
Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres has expressed his intention not to go back to Sporting CP.
According to reports (via @Record_Portugal), he is unhappy due to a failed agreement that would have allowed his departure.
This situation has opened a pathway for United to make their move. Manager Ruben Amorim, who previously worked with Gyokeres at Sporting, might be reuniting with him at Old Trafford. And there could be even more good news for fans.
As the Gyokeres situation develops, another striker is also on the verge of joining Manchester.
Bryan Mbeumo moves closer to Manchester United
Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo is actively pursuing a transfer to the Red Devils, with United having already made two offers.
The latest proposal, around £62.5 million, was rejected, but the club remains persistent. According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions are still ongoing.
“Negotiations are still happening today between Manchester United and Brentford,” Romano mentioned on his YouTube channel. “A deal for Bryan Mbeumo remains a strong possibility.”
This news brings hope to fans who witnessed their team struggle to score last season. Mbeumo netted 20 goals and provided 9 assists, while United’s top scorers often seemed ineffective in crucial moments.
Brentford is reportedly seeking £78 million, but a compromise could be reached just over £60 million. With Mbeumo enthusiastic about the move and competition from Arsenal and Spurs, United is eager to finalize the transfer swiftly.
If both Gyokeres and Mbeumo secure their spots at Old Trafford, manager Amorim will have a completely revamped attacking lineup for the 2025/26 season.
