Man Utd Withdraws from Striker Deal Amid Saudi Interest

Man Utd vs. Aston Villa expert betting tips, predictions, preview and odds image

Manchester United seems to be missing out on another vital recruitment opportunity.

The club’s chase for Fiorentina forward Moise Kean has reached a halt, with reports from Corriere dello Sport indicating that United has stepped back from negotiations despite prior interest.

At the same time, Saudi club Al-Qadsiah has entered the fray, presenting Kean with an attractive contract offer of £250,000 per week to entice him away from European football.

The 25-year-old striker has been on United’s radar as the club seeks to address a persistent scoring dilemma.

Last season, Kean netted 25 goals and provided three assists in all competitions, captivating the attention of those at Old Trafford. However, even with a release clause of £44 million in effect, United’s officials appear to be hesitating.

While the Red Devils deliberate their choices, Al-Qadsiah is taking swift action. With such a lucrative offer on the table, Kean might consider trading the serene Tuscan landscape for the sweltering Middle East.

Reasons Behind Manchester United’s Hesitance with Moise Kean

There are several factors contributing to United’s reluctance regarding this transfer, none of which relate to fiscal caution.

To start, Ruben Amorim has already brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves and continues to pursue Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

However, Brentford is standing firm, and a conclusion has yet to be reached. This has placed United in a tricky position, leaving Kean’s name drifting lower on their priority list.

Add to that the not-so-great memories of Kean’s time at Everton in the Premier League.

Manchester United recognizes that the Premier League is quite different from Serie A. While Kean has shown improvement in Italy, there’s no assurance that he will replicate that success upon returning to England.

Nevertheless, with Hojlund and Zirkzee struggling with consistency last season, United is in urgent need of a dependable scorer.

If Kean opts for Saudi Arabia, it wouldn’t just mark a lost opportunity — it could signify another chapter in United’s ongoing challenges with strikers.
