“Funke Akindele called me to call Jumoke”- Jide Awobona makes a case for the actress

Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has stepped out to support Funke Akindele, his colleague, after Jumoke’s brother called her a hypocrite.

Recall that following her death, Funke Akindele, the forty-year-old star of Jenifa’s Diary, received public criticism from her brother Jumoke Aderounmu?

Not long after she mourned her friend on the internet, Funke Akindele was dragged by Jumoke Aderounmu’s brother.

Jide Awobona denied the claims made by the late actress’s brother that Funke Akindele disregarded his sister when she was ill.

Jide claims that Funke Akindele contacted him to arrange a conversation with the deceased Jumoke.

According to him;

“I really don’t feel like saying anything about this but I need to let the world know that Aunty Funke called me to ask of Jumoke because she knows we were cool. She insisted I call her to be sure she was fine. I did, we spoke at length and I complained about her isolating herself. May her soul Rest In Peace and May God forgive us all.”
