Nwabali’s impressive performance for Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has attracted transfer speculations.
Moreover, he saved two penalties during the quarterfinal shootout against South Africa. Throughout the season, Nwabali has kept 11 clean sheets in 26 games for Chippa United.
Several teams, including El-Ettifaq from Saudi Arabia, Queens Park Rangers from the Sky Bet Championship, and Kaizer Chiefs, have shown interest in signing him.
After a 2-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the season finale, Nwabali hinted at his aspirations for future growth in his career.
“Well, everyone would love to leave because when you are in some position, you need to grow. Like everyone in my position, I would like to grow more.
I’m talking about clubs higher than this [Chippa United] because I have been giving my all to my club this season. I just wish to have another challenge at some other place,” Nwabali said.
