The post quickly went viral, eliciting mixed reactions from fans, especially Nigerians.

Ayra Starr later reposted the photos on her Instagram story, showing her solidarity with her LGBTQ+ fans.

It is important to mention that Ayra Starr had previously declined an embrace from a popular Nigerian musician and fan, Jaywon, at the event, sparking a discussion about her interactions with fans from diverse backgrounds.
