Singer Seun Kuti, the son of the late Afrobeats great Fela Kuti, made this known to everyone when appearing as a guest on the Bahd and Boujee Podcast, presented by media personality Moet Abebe and reality TV sensation Tolanibaj.
During the interview, Moet Abebe asked; “Topic today, monogamy, when you hear that word, Seun what is the first thing that comes to your mind?”
Responding, Seun Kuti said, “It doesn’t work.”
Tolanibaj asked; “Are you married?”
Seun Kuti responded; “Yes”
To support his claim that monogamy does not work even if he is married, Seun Kuti states that a successful man must be surrounded by multiple powerful goddesses.
According to him, the ancestors placed those women in the lives of men so that the guy might share with them like he does with his wife.
Seun Kuti went on to say that while people are aware of his late father Fela’s 27 marriages, they are unaware of his over 100 girlfriends who also dwell in the house.
In his words; “As a powerful man,you must have the support of numerous powerful goddeses, you know women that are in your life because the ancestors want to put them there, youshare with them as you share with your wife.
“People only know of Fela’s 27 wives, they don’t know of his over 100 girlfriends that also live with us in the house.”
