The world is in a tough place right now with the outbreak of COVID-19 shutting down a lot of the world. Some people are currently out of work as they stay home in quarantine to help themselves stay safe.

The Philadelphia 76ers caused some controversy on Monday night as they announced that they would be slashing their salary employee’s pay by 20%. This caused some understandable outrage by everybody who believes the Sixers should be stepping up and helping their employees over this time.

Superstar big man Joel Embiid is stepping in and he is donating $5000,000 to not only coronavirus relief efforts, but to the team workers who had their salary reduced.

It is a terrific and selfless move by Embiid by thinking of others during this incredibly weird and uncertain time. This is something he did not have to do, but he is doing out of the goodness of his heart.

Good on him for helping everybody out.
